WSS for a SmartPhone or PDA

 

If you have a WSS Login you can install the pda version of the WSS program on any Smartphone or PDA that uses the Windows Mobile 6.0 Operating System. Sorry the program is not available for Palm OS, Blackberry or iPhone devices at this point.

 

To install the WSS program on your handheld device be sure it is connected to the internet and then use its browser to go to www.wssweb.com. Select your residency program site, tap “Log in”. Then enter your regular WSS User Name and Password (the same that you use for the regular WSS website). This will bring you to the WSS Mobile Portal.

 

Many of the WSS features are now available through your handheld web browser. All of the features listed in blue in the WSS Mobile Portal are currently functional. The features listed in red are under development. To use these features however your handheld must have an active internet connection. Since your handheld may not always be connected to the internet it is possible to load a version of the WSS program directly on to your handheld device so that you can continue to use some of the WSS features.

 

To install WSS on your handheld device scroll down to the bottom of the WSS Mobile Portal to the “Install WSS on My PDA – PocketPC” link. Tap on this link and follow the steps to install and sync your handheld device to the WSS Website data. After installing WSS on your handheld you will want to periodically do a Web Sync to keep the data that will reside directly on your handheld device up to date with the most current data on the WSS Website.
